About

Patchings stands apart as an art centre. Now in its third decade of promoting the enjoyment of art for everyone. With a year round art school programme of classes and workshops to suit a range of skill levels and ages, monthly exhibitions within our gallery spaces and events including our prestigious and nationally known Art Festival in July now in its 30th year.
Visit Patchings and discover our Art Shop, Farmhouse Gift Shop, Framing Centre, Café, Galleries and not to mention our Woodland walks and Artists’ Trail, telling the story of art through 62 Glass framed paintings.

Reception/Art shop - Inspiring your creativity. With over 30 years’ experience of teaching and selling materials, buy from our recommended range of art products. New and collectable art books to further your inspiration and extend your knowledge. Enquire in our Reception for details about exhibitions, events, and our art school programme. Conducted group visits welcome.

Café - Open 9:30am to 4:30pm A homely and welcoming setting to enjoy – freshly baked pastries, delicious homemade cakes, our popular breakfast menu, lunches and light meals, afternoon teas and always daily specials. Selection of coffees and a range of teas.

Available to book for private occasions in evenings.

Farmhouse Gift Shop – Explore through our fantastic range of textiles, ceramics, jewellery, cards and much more in our gift shop. Our Farmhouse has been recently renovated and shows off the very best of our selected collection of contemporary hand crafted work.

Framing and Print - Presentation and re-production of artwork – Framing through reputation, let our experienced staff guide as you consider the perfect bespoke presentation for your artwork. Open Wednesday to Saturday.

Galleries – A significant part of the visitor centre is the prestigious Barn Gallery and newly refurbished Crew Yard Gallery with a programme of exhibitions by regional and nationally renowned artists. Showcasing a range of group and one person exhibitions to the region is an important aspect the centre’s work. As with all the visitor centre, galleries have free entrance.

Walks - The 50-acre site has extensive countryside walks including the well-known lake and ‘Monet’ bridge. Over 35 years of planting has created the tranquil woodland walks through wildflower meadows and is open April to September.

Our latest attraction, the Artists’ Trail, features 62 well known paintings encased in glass and is set along a pathway, within the beautiful scenery around Patchings. Meet and hear from five well known artists along the trail by downloading our App and watch them come to life, you can even have your photo taken with them! Our Artists’ Trail is a great activity for the whole family, open year round and both our walks are free of charge.
