West Bridgford Operatic Society presents Curtains, a brassy and bloody whodunnit from award winning songwriter duo Kander and Ebb (writers of Cabaret, Chicago and Fosse).
Set in a theatre in Boston USA, the musical centres around Police Lieutenant Frank Cioffi, a musical theatre fan who is tasked with solving murders within the cast of a fictional 1950s show 'Robbin Hood'. The audience is invited to unravel clues with him whilst simultaneously enjoying being entertained. The music offers songs which parody the golden age of musicals, interspersed with and sometimes merging with an inventive and often jazzy score that helps to tell the actual story so come on down and experience this unique witty comedy with a sprinkle of Nottinghma charm
