1. Nottinghamshire Pride 2024
Saturday 27th July | Nottingham City Centre | FREE event
Notts Pride is the East Midlands’ biggest and all-embracing free Pride event, which takes place on the last Saturday of July each year. They are here to celebrate Nottinghamshire’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community and ensure queer voices are heard.
Join the march from 11am, browse the market or catch the acts on the Main Stage from 1pm - 6pm. Headline artists announced so far include Tia Kofi and The Dolly Show. New for 2024, there will also be a dedicated Family Area with activities for families and younger people.
Elsewhere in the city, you can enjoy Pride Festival With Gok Wan for a night filled with music, dancing, and good vibes, all while taking in the beautiful views of the city at Binks Yard from 2pm. You can pick up a ticket from £15. Don’t miss the Groovebox Pride After Party at Tunnel Club to keep the party going, with tickets from £9.
2. Lying in State: Holographic Byron
26th July - 5th August | Nottingham Central Library | FREE
Lying in State: Holographic Byron is an immersive and interactive installation, allowing you to see and engage with a hologram of Byron, and ask ‘him’ questions, hear poetry, and more.
The virtual reality experience, developed by the Virtual and Immersive Production (VIP) Studio, is free to access at Nottingham Central Library from 26th July to 5th August.
This year we are marking 200 years since the anniversary of Lord Byron's death in Greece, on 19th April 1824. To celebrate this anniversary, we've rounded up some fantastic ways to remember this acclaimed poet. For more information and events, click here.
3. Boho Festival 2024
Friday 26th July - Sunday 28th July | The Millview Glamping & Camping site | From £11.25
Boho Festival is an intimate gathering bringing like minded people together to appreciate the insane sunset, magical woodland, live music, DJ's & performance. Dance under the canopy of the trees, with an amazing crowd of people and a sprinkling of bohemian magic.
The Millview Glamping & Camping site is the perfect place for an intimate family friendly festival. It has the most glorious sunset, a magical woodland to dance in and an idyllic campsite to rest your head at the end of the day.
The afternoon soundtrack will be a laid back affair showcasing local talented musicians playing original and cover songs, eclectic DJs and street performers. When the sun goes down, you will be entertained with Covers Bands and DJs, playing soul, funk, disco, pop, indie, house & guilty pleasures, to make you dance your socks off!
There is also plenty of entertainment for the Children, with soccer school, forestry school, bouncy castle, arts & crafts area, face paint, puppet theatre, and kids disco.
4. Outdoor Film & Theatre
When summer comes along, many of Nottinghamshire's best-loved heritage attractions play host to a variety of outdoor film and theatre performances. Along with popular films screened underneath the stars, you can catch Shakespeare plays, delightful comedies and fun-filled children's theatre in the picturesque grounds of historic houses and country parks.
This weekend you can enjoy:
- Outdoor Cinema at Newstead Abbey with screening of Top Gun, Mamma Mia and Back to the Future over the weekend.
- Open-Air Theatre at Nottingham Castle with Robin Hood on Saturday 27 July.

5. School's Out Disco Skate

Get ready to groove and glide into summer in style at the National Ice Centre’s Schools Out for Summer Disco Ice Skating Party.
This epic event is for kids and teens of all ages, and it’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year with a Hawaiian twist!
On Saturday 27 July from 2:30 – 4:30pm they have a fun-filled disco session on the ice. Show off your ice dancing moves under our dazzling disco lights and party together to the latest hits.
