D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre - 16th November to 22nd December 2013: Go to the birthplace of literary legend D.H. Lawrence in Eastwood to post your Christmas letter to Santa, visit the enchanted wood and meet the beautiful fairy. On 26th November, watch the magical season come to life at the Eastwood Christmas Lights Switch-On or step back in time to experience a traditional Victorian Christmas. Sherwood Forest - 23rd November until 26th December 2013: Robin Hood’s famous hideout, Sherwood Forest, has plenty of seasonal treats including Christmas wreath making, tree dressing and the Big Christmas Light Switch-On which takes place on 1st December. Rufford Abbey Country Park: From 6 to 22 December, the magical Aurora Illuminations will come to Rufford Abbey. From 23 November 2013 to 5 January 2014: During your visit, see Santa in his beautiful grotto and purchase personalised gifts, including a photograph with Santa. If you’re after a Christmas themed trail then make your way from the Abbey to Rufford Mill solving clues along the way - there will even be a reward at the Mill Tea Shop for completing the trail. Winter Wonderland, Old Market Square - 20 November 2013 – 5 January 2014: A traditional Christmas card scene will be recreated in Nottingham’s Old Market Square this year – complete with ice rink, Christmas trees and snow-topped cabins.
