A unique opportunity to be taken back in time and discover some little known facts about Nottinghamshires rich history and heritage. Your journey begins in 1885 when the Raleigh cycle factory started, then you venture through to our WW1 display as Clipstone was the largest army training camp in Britain during WW1, with over 30,000 troops at anyone time. Then you move to WW2 and then our cold war vehicle exhibits which are a real treat. Your guide then takes you on an educational trip back to when 1 million tons of coal came up under the worlds tallest headstocks right here at Clipstone.

Be sure to bring a camera, and sensible shoes, don't expect shiny glass cabinets or polished floors, this museum is real.

GUIDED TOURS TAKE PLACE ON THE HOUR EVERY HOUR and take approx 50 minutes.

THE TOUR IS SADLY NOT SUITED TO WHEEL CHAIRS AS THERE ARE STAIRS INVOLVED

Date for your diary - 19th - 20th July I 10am - 5pm

Clipstone at War

A real spectacle as we transform our showground in to a war scene. Vehicles, artillery, soldiers, re-enactors, trade stalls, live period music on stage all day, great food and a bar selling cold ones for just £3. We are supported by large displays of living history and all our team are approachable and happy to talk about their involvement.

£5 per person plus £8 for guided tours of our military and mining museum.
