RSPB Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre
£12.50pp (£10 RSPB members)
Come along for a guided walk in search of one of Sherwood's most distinctive visiting early summer species – the redstart!
Redstarts are colourful migratory songbirds which can be found in Sherwood as the warmer months take hold – and it's so important to know that they are here as it is a species that is declining in Europe.
During this leisurely walk, you will explore the natural habitats of redstarts, and learn about their behaviour and how to identify them by their call.
Led by experienced birding guides, you will hike through the beautiful Sherwood woodland and call at the various locations redstarts are known to frequent here.
Whether you are a seasoned birdwatcher or a beginner, this guided walk is the perfect opportunity to learn more about these fascinating birds.
And don't forget to bring your binoculars and cameras to capture the sights and sounds of redstarts in what is one of their favourite UK summer habitats.
As this is a walk to see the birds in the wild we cannot guarantee that you will see them. However, you will learn much.
