Lucy is a fantastic speaker who offers an entwinement of emotive history with a unique sprinkle of Yorkshire humour which both engages and entertains her audience.
Lucy is a long time supporter of the museum, who last hosted an event with us in 2023 for her book 'The Dressmakers of Auschwitz'. This event sold out in just days, so book your tickets now to secure your spot!

About the book:-
Following the success of the New York Times bestseller The Dressmakers of Auschwitz, historian Lucy Adlington's new book Four Red Sweaters bears testament to the memories that the most fragile garments can hold, and to the love that never unravels even in the darkest moments of history.
Join her as she recounts powerful true stories of friendship, survival and resilience in the Holocaust, from a Kindertransport refugee to a daring armed revolt, all centring on knitting skills and an intriguing selection of humble woollens.

About the author
Lucy Adlington is an author, presenter, clothes historian and keen collector of vintage & antique costume. She writes both history-inspired fiction and fascinating social history books.
When not on the sofa reading & writing, she likes exploring vintage fairs, flea markets and car boot sales, looking for historical treasures. She lives on a working farm in the north of England, with a patient farmer and a cat the size of a small armchair.

The Museum will be open from 10:00 to 16:30 for visitors wishing to explore exhibitions and memorial gardens. Please remember to book both admission and an event ticket.
