Headliner - Noel James
For eight years, Noel has performed comedy throughout the UK. He has performed at all the major clubs and festivals. Glastonbury, Reading, Edinburgh, to name but three.
Before entering showbiz, old Noel tried his hand at teaching, without much success. He taught English as a foreign language: he taught it as Welsh! His act is gag, gag, gag all the way – though some of it consists of non-baby-talk. Above all, his act is highly original; the guy who wrote it assured him of this.
Surreal, bizarre, absurd, intelligent, and yet, somehow strangely attractive.
Noel's TV appearances include the BBC Stand Up Show and Frank Skinner's Packing Them In. He has written and performed in Giamocs, a sketch show on Welsh TV that was nominated for Rose of Montreaux in 1995.
He has also written a six part sit com for Welsh TV, entitled Tair Gwaith I Gymro, and was commissioned by S4C to write a film script. This film, The Heckler, tells the story of a Welsh man who comes to London to perform stand-up.
Noel's radio experience includes writing and performing sketches for Radio Wales' satirical show My Dog's Got No Nose.
MC - Meryl O'Rourke
Acclaimed stand-up comic and TV writer Meryl O'Rourke –revels in her bitterness. She has delighted comedy audiences, written some of the best gags on telly and even hosted pop concerts (last one to 12,000 people!) She's a regular support for Frankie Boyle, including upcoming in London July '22. She's supported him since 2010 at the Hammersmith Apollo. Meryl is also a trained actress and got to call Frankie an "arsehole" in his Channel 4 series Tramadol Nights.
She won the Betty and Peter/Big Talk writing prize, where she has been gifted a chunk of money to help her write a sitcom with a production company. She was chosen by unanimous decision from 650 entrants.
She is a Sony nominated radio broadcaster, appearing as a reviewer on Radio 4 Front Row. She wrote/performed and edited a comedy series for Woman's Hour.
Meryl has written for Have I Got News for You, 8/10 Cats and 3 series of Mock the Week. A close collaborator with Frankie Boyle, she has written for all 3 episodes of Autopsy, all series of New World Order, and Frankie Goes To Russia
Opener - Friz Frizzle
"This comic will never run out of funny material" - The Sun
"One of the Top Ten must see shows" - Huffington Post
✱✱✱✱ - TheatreReviews.co.uk
Friz Frizzle is a Songruiner. He will take the lyrics of the tunes you know and love and mess around with them until you don't want to know or love them any more. It's better than it sounds. He has been on the scene since 2011, and has headlined Comedy Festivals, weekend clubs, appeared on BBC Radio 4 and won Hull Comedian of the Year 2017. He has performed sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe every year since 2015 and has also released three top-charting comedy albums.
Middle - Vix Leyton
Discovered by Mark Watson on Twitter, Welsh stand up Vix Leyton is a natural storyteller with a keen eye for observation, combining warm, whimsical charm with biting wit.
Her panel show podcast 'The Comedy Arcade' is both an audio success and compelling live show, picking up a nomination for Leicester Comedy's best podcast in 2021 and racking up sell out shows at Edinburgh Fringe last year with Underbelly. She also co-hosts spending show 'False Economy' interviewing some of the UK's biggest names on how they spend it.
She was a 'Funny Women' semi-finalist in 2021 and is a regular MC for pro nights including Red Imp Comedy, Poodle Club and Outside the Box. She is also the promoter of the infamous church gig 'Have I got pews for you' and resident legal prosecutor for 'This is your trial'.
