1. The People’s Picture Project
The venue will unveil the People’s Picture Project, a stunning photo mosaic created from thousands of fan photos. This unique artwork captures the essence of the venue's impact over the years and will be displayed in the foyer of the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham this summer. Visitors are encouraged to share their cherished memories and become part of this lasting tribute.

A special anniversary podcast series, presented by local radio and TV presenter Mark Dennison, will dive into the venue’s journey. The series kicks off on 31st March with an exclusive interview with the legendary ice dancing duo, Jayne Torvill and Chris Dean. Listeners can tune in to hear fascinating stories and memories from staff and visitors alike.

3. Torvill & Dean’s Last Dance
This summer, the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham will host the emotional farewell performance by Torvill & Dean. Visitors can witness the legendary duo’s final appearance together before retiring, a fitting tribute to the venue’s rich history in the world of ice skating.

4. Free Ice Skating for Nottingham’s Children
In celebration of the anniversary, the National Ice Centre is offering every child in Nottingham the chance to experience ice skating for free. This initiative aims to inspire the next generation of skaters and share the joy of the sport with local families.
5. Easter Family Fun Day
On Saturday, 12th April, from 10 am to 1 pm, visitors can join the ultimate Easter family day out. With 25 activities packed into this anniversary event, there’s something for everyone! Enjoy free skating taster sessions, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and an exciting Easter egg hunt.
6. Backstage Mural by Elliot Caine
This summer, the venue will unveil a vibrant hand-painted mural by local artist Elliot Caine, celebrating Nottingham’s rich cultural heritage and the iconic performers who have graced the stage. This striking tribute will enhance the Arena’s legacy as a cultural hub.
7. Commemorative Exhibition
Next year, visitors can look forward to an interactive exhibition showcasing the venue’s history. More details on this exciting display will be announced later.
8. Ice Skating Gala
The National Ice Centre will celebrate 25 years with a spectacular ice skating gala, featuring performances from all ice sports disciplines and hosted by Robin Cousins. More information will be available soon.
