I was really looking forward the inaugural year of the enchanting Light Post Farm event at the White Post Farm and discovering whether it really was, as the reviews say, a must-visit for families looking for a magical day out. After having been now I can confidently say it’s a must-visit this festive season.

As soon as you step into Light Post Farm, you’re greeted by a dazzling display of lights that instantly sets the festive mood. The farm’s illuminated pathways are truly and incredible, with twinkling arches, themed light installations, and a sprinkle of magic in every corner. The visuals alone are enough to captivate children and leave parents snapping photos at every turn. Our little one was in such an awe that he was saying ‘wow, wow’ every way he turned. He’s just 19 months old but was dazzled by the festive lights and displays. He couldn’t stay still either, running around from one display to another with his hands up. Christmas cheer was also brought by the festival music playing in the background with our little one dancing and bobbing around to it as we strolled around along the path.

The highlight for us was also meeting many of the farm’s animals. As part of the trails the families are invited to interact with some of White Post Farm’s cutest residents. From the friendly goats and meeting the fluffy alpacas to the farm’s playful rabbits, the animals offered endless joy and smiles to the little ones.

For those families seeking an adrenaline boost, the play areas and rides are a guaranteed hit. From mini tractors, activity area where you can slide on a fake grass and everything in between, the event has been thoughtfully designed to cater to children of all ages. The energy is infectious as kids dart from one activity to another, each one as engaging as the last.

For parents, there are various food and drink stands and trucks offering a selection of warming treats, from hot chocolate to seasonal snacks and pastries, allowing you to take a breather while soaking in the cheerful ambiance.

Light Post Farm at White Post Farm is a family-friendly gem that combines festive magic, educational fun, and memorable experiences. It’s a day out that children will be talking about for weeks and one that parents will treasure for its holiday spirit and all the adorable family photos they’ve taken. I highly recommend it for your next family trip!

Some helpful tips for your visit:

•The event is easily visible from the main road because of its festive light, so don’t worry you won’t get lost!

•There’s plenty parking available.

•Once you arrive you will be greeted by friendly staff, you will receive a map of the trail and your tickets will be scanned.

•Dress warm and wear comfortable shoes, the trail takes about 50 minutes’ walk and is wheelchair and pushchair friendly but can get a bit muddy.

•Comfortable clothes will help you enjoy the farm with your little ones. The indoor fake grass sliding slope, for example, is perfect entertainment that you and your kids can enjoy together.

•Take plenty of photos 😉
