1. Forest Live 2024
Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd June | Sherwood Pines | Various prices
Forest Live is a major live music series held in our nation’s forests, and it comes to Sherwood Pines, in the heart of Sherwood Forest, this weekend!
Musical pioneers Nile Rodgers & CHIC will bring the ultimate party on Friday 21st with support from British singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor and 80s inspired contemporary pop band Deco.
Anne-Marie will be performing at Sherwood Pines on June 22nd as part of Forest Live. The shows will mark her second consecutive edition of Forest Live following a sold-out performance at Thetford earlier this year.
The legendary Sting will be lighting up Sunday 23rd with his special My Songs 2024 concert. Accompanied by an electric rock ensemble, My Songs 2024 is an exuberant and dynamic show featuring his most beloved songs, written throughout Sting’s illustrious career with The Police and as a solo artist.
2. Cockpit-Fest & Aeroboot 2024
Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd June | Newark Air Museum | Admission prices: Adults £11, Over 65s £10, Children £5.50, Family ticket £30
The two-day charitable event, Cockpit-Fest, provides a focal point for cockpit owners from across the UK. This year it is back in its normal June timeslot at the Newark Air Museum site in eastern Nottinghamshire.
The next Newark Outdoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble Sale is also this weekend, running alongside the annual Cockpit-Fest event.
3. The Three Inch Fools: The Secret Diary of Henry VIII
Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd June | Hardwick Hall | 7pm - 9.30pm daily | Tickets: £10 - £18
The Three Inch Fools present an essential guide on how to keep your head in the Tudor Court. Unexpectedly thrust into the limelight, young Henry navigates the ups and downs of courtly life, and all whilst fighting the French (again) and re-writing religion.
Please note that this is an outdoor performance, and picnics are very welcome.
The performance will last approximately 100 minutes with a 20 minute interval.
4. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Friday 21st June | The Palace Gardens at Southwell Minster | 6pm | Tickets: Standard £15 / Concessions £12 / Family of 4 £50 / Under 4s FREE
When Dorothy Gale is carried from her home in Kansas by a cyclone, she finds herself in the magical land of Oz. There she must journey to the Emerald City to meet with the great Wizard, and with the help of the friends she meets along the way, defeat the Wicked Witch of the West.
Based on the original novel by L. Frank Baum, children and adults alike will love this ever-popular story reimagined for the stage.
Please bring your own low backed chairs or picnic rugs and be prepared to be royally entertained in the beautiful Palace Gardens.
5. Magic of Thailand
Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June | Forest Recreation Ground | 10am - 7pm daily | Tickets: £5 per day; Under 15's free
Don’t miss this two day Thai Festival to experience the taste of Thailand this summer at Forest Recreation Ground - brought to you by Magic of Thailand.
Treat yourself to a weekend wonder and bring along your families and friends to feel a touch of Thai culture, where you can challenge your taste buds and feast your eyes on world class food and performances.
Unwind with a traditional Thai massage and don't miss the unique eating competition and Muay Thai boxing.
The festival starts with a traditional food offering to Buddhist monks and entertainment throughout the day including traditional music and dancing, Muay Thai boxing, Ladyboy show, Thai beer garden, Thai food and produce stalls, Thai massage and children's play area.
