2. Flamingods
Friday 22nd March | Metronome | 7pm | £13.50 + booking fee
Don't miss the euphoric return of Flamingods as the celebrated multi-instrumentalists bring their explosive, high-energy show to Metronome this weekend.
A cult favourite on the festival circuit in UK and Europe, the London quartet have now been crafting their distinctive genre-defying music for over a decade. Weaving through genres of psychedelia, new wave, electronica and punk – often within the same song – is a bit of a specialty for the band, as is their knack for blending in influences from their unique cultural heritages and love of 70s British rock and roll.
3. Catalyst Exhibition: FRAMES
Thursday 21st – Sunday 24th March | Nottingham Contemporary | Various times | FREE
Join Nottingham Contemporary for an evening of art as they celebrate the launch of this year's Catalyst Exhibition - FRAMES. This exhibition explores the complexities of hierarchy, accessibility, and perception in contemporary art and society.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Nottingham Trent University's MFA and MA Illustration students. With guidance from the Nottingham Contemporary team, the group explored the themes in Paul Mpagi Sepuya: Exposure and Dora Budor: Again.
They aim to confront the barriers that exist between artists, artwork, and audience. FRAMES not only offers captivating artworks on display, but also a unique opportunity for interactive audience participation. You can experience the art of screen printing and become an integral part of the creative process.
