Like the idea of Notts Bad Movie Club, but the movies are just too bad?! Fear not! On alternate months at Annie’s, they’re now going to be screening pretty GOOD films. You can expect games and even shouting along to your favourite lines. This Friday, you can enjoy films Baseketball & South Park: The Movie.
4. Ghost Hunt - The Haunted Railway Station
Saturday 11th March | Gedling Railway Station | 8pm - 1am | Tickets: From £38
This former railway station was built to serve the villages of Gedling and Carlton in Nottinghamshire. It was opened by the Great Northern Railway on its Derbyshire Extension in 1875–6 and closed in 1960. With Centuries of history, it is well worth a visit… but be warned, as after dark this place has a different atmosphere! With many ghost stories, this is the ideal location for paranormal investigation.
As you walk through the door, you can feel the spiritual energy step forward. Come and wander through the chillingly, empty rooms and soak up the atmosphere. It takes on a whole new feel when darkness falls…
5. White Roses
Sunday 12th March | The National Holocaust Centre & Museum | From 1pm | Tickets: From £7.50
Professional poet Amina Atiq will read her poem ‘White Roses’ and you will be hearing Holocaust survivor Simon Winston’s response to this beautiful piece of work. While you’re there, you can also visit their Digital Installation.
The event will also be joined by Holocaust Survivor Ruth Schwiening. Simon and Ruth will each take to the stage to listen to the creative writing that they inspired and interact with the authors. Ruth will also discuss her artwork in broken glass inspired by the poem White Roses.
The cast of ‘Broken Instruments’ will also be performing ‘Six Million White Roses’ the beautiful, original song that they have composed inspired by the Memorial Gardens at the venue.
