Tucking into Pizzas at Rocket at Saltwater

Sitting high above the city, Rocket at Saltwater is a stylish place to enjoy a drink and some food, with a fantastic atmosphere. A couple of members of the Experience Nottinghamshire team went along to try out their tasty looking pizza menu - here's what we made of it:

Few things make life worth living more than a good pizza - so when offered the chance to go and try out the pizzas at Rocket at Saltwater, I jumped at the chance to grab a slice of the action. Located in the Cornerhouse, which is a fantastic entertainment venue in the heart of Nottingham and features restaurants, a huge cinema, an arcade and, of course, Lost City Adventure Golf. Simply put, it's jam-packed with things to do. The first thing that hits you, when visiting Saltwater, is the fantastic venue - sitting high up in the Cornerhouse, you can enjoy sweeping views over the city, towards the dome of the Council House. While it was a little chilly on the day we visited, the outdoor terrace is a fantastic spot for enjoying nicer weather and soaking up some sun with some food and a drink. The outdoor terrace has a real holiday vibe to it. There was to be no relaxing for us, however, as we were here on a serious mission - to test out as much pizza as we could handle. Whisked out on huge boards, the two of us immediately got stuck into the three huge pizzas that were served up. There's a great range of toppings available, and we went for one with spicy tandoori chicken, a salami option, and a wildcard feta and honey option. The three pizzas were all delicious but if pushed, I'd have to choose the mouthwatering tandoori option as my favourite. I was surprised by how much I liked the sweet, honey and cheese combination - well worth a try if you fancy something a little different. Despite a heroic effort, we didn't manage to finish the whole thing - but Rocket at Saltwater were more than happy to wrap up the remnants, and pop them in a bag for us. It's fair to say that the rest of the EN team were happy to see us when we returned, and our spare slices didn't get a chance to cool down before being devoured. Kinga We were excited to give pizza boards a try this lunch time, and ambitiously chose to share three pizzas between two of us. We went for Tandoori Chicken with spiced tomato sauce, red peppers, jalapenos, sweet corn, coriander and raita. Then, there was a Meat pizza with salami, chorizo, ham and pancetta, and finally the Bianca Miele with mozzarella, ricotta, goat’s cheese and parmesan cheese drizzled with honey. From the three we chose, my all-time favourite was the Meat pizza - so delicious. I was pleased to see that they were served on thin crust, which is my favourite way of serving pizzas. I also really enjoyed the unusual Bianca Miele, which became our desert because it was so nice and sweet. We even took some of it back to the office for our colleagues to try because it was so tasty. At £7 for a pizza board and a drink, Pizza Monday has to be one of the best deals available in Nottingham city centre. It's not all about pizza either, with £10 steaks on Tuesdays and £9 for a burger and a drink on a Wednesday.
