The countdown is on to the first ever Great Food and Drink Festival at Nottingham Castle, which kicks off next week on 23rd-25th May, Nottingham Castle. With over 100 food, drink and crafts stands and an abundance of activities, there is sure to be something for everyone at the event; from hot food and drink to real ale bars, beer and wine tasting, kid’s cookery classes, outdoor entertainment and live music, what’s not to like?
The Great Food and Drink Festival is a celebration of the fantastic produce in the county, and prides itself on getting the best local produce from around Nottinghamshire for all to try. Stroll around the beautiful grounds of Nottingham Castle, enjoy the entertainment or just relax at the bar, with plenty of seating it’s a prime opportunity to take in the sights that Nottingham has to offer.
There will be cookery demonstrations by none other than guest celebrity chef, Simon Rimmer. The Sunday Brunch co-host has a real passion for food and will be giving a number of demonstrations over the weekend, which are sure to make your mouth water. He’ll be joined by Adam Simmonds, winner of Great British Menu 2014, Jordan Cox, contestant on The Great British Bake-off and a number of talented local chefs too.
As if that wasn’t enough, there are also stalls selling home and kitchen goods and an array of homemade crafts available. Face painting, pizza and bread making and a whole host of rides are available for the children, so there is plenty of fun to keep the whole family entertained.
Don’t miss out and make sure you get your tickets. Weekend tickets are £15 and £10 for concessions, with standard single-day tickets costing £7 and £5 for concessions. Under 10’s go free with a paying adult.
