Entries for Venturefest East Midlands’ Next Generation Zone are now available to view on the event’s YouTube channel. Entrepreneurs from across the region have been submitting their new ideas and start-up business concepts, which will go on to be shortlisted and compete for prize money at the event. Delegates at Venturefest East Midlands, taking place on 14 April 2015 at East Midlands Conference Centre, will cast the deciding votes on the day via the official event app.
The Next Generation Zone, run in conjunction with De Montfort University, Nottingham Trent University, University of Derby, University of Leicester and University of Nottingham aims to encourage innovative and creative business development by entrepreneurs in the East Midlands. Whether a business has already been set-up, or is still in the planning stages, the Next Generation Zone is showcasing ideas to business owners, investors and potential partners.
Entrants fall into two streams; New Business Ideas and Early Stage Business. Entries to both streams are now available to view on Venturefest East Midlands’ YouTube channel. Each University will be selecting a finalist before the event after which shortlisted entries will compete for the prize money at Venturefest East Midlands itself.
SEEM will be offering a prize of £500, which will be presented to the winner of the New Business Ideas stream, whilst entrants into the Early Stage Businesses stream will be up against each other to secure the prize funds of up to £1000 from Venturefest East Midlands.
Entries received cover a variety of sectors including manufacturing, fashion, mobile apps, media and finance, to name just a few.

We had a range of entries and it was great to see a lot of effort put into producing some engaging and compelling business pitches. We look forward to seeing many of the businesses progress in the future and our graduates creating employment for others”.
All of the entrants are also part of the Venturefest East Midlands Next Generation network, offering promotion via the Venturefest East Midlands communication channels offering further and ongoing exposure.
