Just 100 people were lucky enough to get their hands on tickets for Matt Goss' sell-out show at Nottingham's ALEA Casino in Nottingham last Thursday night - including the winner of our competition, Michelle Linder, who travelled from Birmingham to see her idol.
Matt performed an adapted 90 minute version of his spectacular Las Vegas production, ‘The Gossy Room’ which has achieved sell-outs at Caesar's Palace every weekend since it opened. During his Nottingham show he spoke to the audience, revealing the stories behind his life and career.
Speaking afterwards Matt said: "The response I received from the people of Nottingham was incredible and the atmosphere in the casino was buzzing. It really felt like we created a touch of Vegas here in the heart of the city. It's been a lovely experience to perform in casinos that are directly linked to my show at Caesar's Palace, and to meet and greet the locals that enjoy coming here."
Meanwhile, Michelle said that it had been 'a wonderful evening'.
"Matt was on top form as he always is," she said.
"I've seen him many times and he always put his all into his performances, making the audience feel like they are his friends . It was such a lovely intimate show and the meet-and-greet was also fab - he gives excellent hugs!"
The show featured a mixture of his career hits and popular covers, and Goss was backed by a talented nine-piece band with horn section, and two back up singers.
Meanwhile, Mark Hands, who is venue director at ALEA Nottingham, added: "We're a little overwhelmed by the response we got to this event. There's nothing we love more here at the ALEA casino than bringing thrills and excitement to the people of Nottingham, so when we saw the reaction of the crowd we just knew that the evening was going to be a winner.
"We’re committed to offering our customers the best buzz in town, and how better to take advantage of our authentic link to Las Vegas than to bring over a headline act from Caesar's Palace, exclusively for our guests?"
