Laugh away the January blues with the team at NCF Comedy

Who doesn't like to laugh out loud so much that their stomach hurts? Luckily in Nottingham we have NCF Comedy to ensure get our dose of laughter. Today's guest blog is from Elliott Bower who tells us what you can expect from NCF this January. For some, January can be a very bleak month. The magic of Christmas is over, the last of the drink vanishes on New Years Eve, and sometimes all you're left with is the cold, the dark, a lot of debt and broken new year's resolutions. However, we at NCF Comedy have a wonderful alternative solution to all the doom, gloom and January blues. On Wednesday the first of our 2015 NCF Canalhouse £1 Comedy Night's takes place. This will feature approximately 10 acts including the host/compere entertaining a lovely crowd in a gorgeous room above the Canalhouse - and all for just £1 entry! We came up with the idea for this back in early 2013 when we noticed £1 shops were cropping up all around the city centre. At this time, NCF Comedy was getting bigger and a lot more established. We needed somewhere where we could look at new talent and give the opportunity for established acts to try out some new material while at the same time, mixing them together to create a laugh-out-loud show. We were aware that this would be a midweek event, but this could easily work to our advantage. Instead of having a night in front of the telly or just being plain bored and skint, many people nowadays scan the web, looking for something to do midweek that's hopefully cheap and cheerful. We at NCF Comedy have done just that by having a show that starts at 8pm, allowing just enough time to get home after work and eat, get ready and come straight to the lovely venue that is the Canalhouse to enjoy an approximate two and a half hours of entertainment. And once again, it's all for the tiny entry price of just £1! NCF Canalhouse £1 Comedy Club takes place at the Canalhouse Nottingham every second Wednesday of the month.
