Summer in the city of Nottingham is going to be a classy affair judging by the newly-released menu, cocktails and list of events happening at The Park Bar at Hart's Hotel. I went over to meet the team including bar manager, Brenton to find out more. As I glanced through the menu, which was launched just a fortnight ago, my eye was drawn to delicious-sounding dishes such as chicken skewers served with fries and coleslaw for just £10.95 and a variety of Hart's homemade pasta dishes at £9. And if my experience of Hart’s food is anything to go by, they’ll be scrumptious quality and locally-sourced ingredients wherever they can including our famous Colwick Cheese in a carefully-crafted salad. I asked Brenton what he would recommend off the cocktail menu this summer.  The tennis fans out there will be delighted to discover the new Wimbledon Cocktail he has just finished working on which includes Ketelvodka, crème de cassis, strawberries, cinnamon and double cream.  I will definitely be back outside of work hours to try one of those!  A Pimms Cup is also is also a popular choice throughout the summer apparently - anyone for a glass? Last year my birthday was on a Friday and a group of us went over to Hart’s after work for one of the famous Friday night barbecues which take place each month throughout the summer. We had a fabulous evening socialising in the sun-trap courtyard and enjoying fantastic food from the grill, as well as salads and Hambleton Bakery breads. I had a memorable birthday and all my friends had such a great night. Both residents and non-residents are welcome at Hart's - and it is perfect for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, after work drinks and dinner. In fact, if you're visiting Nottinghamshire this summer it is one of my top recommendations! Pictured at the top is a Pippin - or apple cake - from Hambleton Bakery. Further details are available on the Hart's website
