Robin Hood and his merry men will be lining up to race on Sunday 28th September for Nottingham's Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon – and we're giving one lucky running fan the chance to win a place at this year's event plus an overnight stay at one of the city's most popular hotels.
The Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon is one of the biggest in the country, attracting more than 8,000 people last year. It is also one of the fastest courses which means it could be the race where you get that all-important personal best.
As well as gaining free race entry, the winner of our competition will also be treated to a night at Nottingham's Crowne Plaza on 27th September, with breakfast included. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Nottingham and just a short drive or bus ride away from where the half marathon starts.
The Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon course follows a flat and scenic route through the city and surrounding countryside of Nottingham. The fastest time ever recorded was Luka Rotich in 2012 in a time of 61 minutes and 39 seconds demonstrating just how fast the course really is.
Last year more than 500 runners donned their medieval fancy dress to honour of our favourite outlaw Robin Hood. This September the race organisers hope to set a new record, with the highest number of Robin Hoods racing a single race and it promises to be quite a sight to behold.
Entries are now open and places are already filling up fast, 2014 even sees the return of the full marathon. To secure your place at this prestigious event please visit the website.
Entry fees for the 2014 Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon are £27.75 for UKA affiliated club runners and £29.95 for all other entries. Or if you’d prefer a longer distance there’s also a full marathon.
This competition has now closed.
