This summer, Nottinghamshire will be rolling out the red carpet again to welcome international visitors to the First Investec England v India Test Match (9 – 13 July 2014) and Royal London One Day Series International (30 August 2014), taking place at Trent Bridge.

With more than 80,000 tickets already sold, this major sporting event is a real coup for local tourism, and will have a huge impact on the local visitor economy.

Keith Laird, Head of Business Development, Experience Nottinghamshire, said: “Experience Nottinghamshire has been working closely with Trent Bridge, VisitEngland, Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council, Rushcliffe Borough Council and Nottingham Hoteliers Association to ensure we have a coordinated tourism message for visitors to Nottingham who are here for the cricket. We also want to make sure the visitors make the most of their time in Nottinghamshire by promoting all of our local attractions and venues to them.

“Holding such prestigious international events in Nottingham provides an enormous boost to our local economy and we expect the impact to be worth millions to the local visitor economy.

“Hosting such major sporting events also helps us to put Nottingham on the world stage and, with TV audiences around the world expected to reach in excess of 500 million, it is a great opportunity to showcase our great city to the rest of the world.

“We are also working with our members and partners to put together a package of special offers and events to provide added value for visitors and to promote the services of local businesses.”
