This week we are sharing Vicky McClure’s favourite places in Nottinghamshire.

Actress Vicky McClure is one of the UK’s most promising newcomers and is best known for her role as Detective Inspector Kate Fleming in the BBC series Line of Duty and as Lol Jenkins in Shane Meadows’ This Is England. In 2015, she had a Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram named after her. She has honorary Doctorates from both the University of Nottingham and Trent University. In 2011, she won the BAFTA for Best Leading Actress for her role in This Is England ’86. In 2021 she won both a TV Choice Award and TV Times Award for her work in Line of Duty.

Vicky was born in Nottingham and still lives here today. Here are her favourite places in Nottinghamshire:

“Being from Wollaton, Wollaton Park (pictured below) is one of my favourite places. It's absolutely beautiful there & if it’s sunny or snowy you’re guaranteed a fun day. The Hall is a beautiful Elizabethan Mansion with lots to see inside & there's always loads of exciting events throughout the year!

Dino's Cafe & Wine Bar - I really like it here, the food is really tasty and it has a really cosy feel to it. I often go there with my mum after a long day's shopping in town, glass of wine, sometimes live music, perfect combination.

Paul Smith - Being a local designer is a bonus but I love their clothes & products. The shop itself has such a nice vibe to it, with different rooms to wander around. The original shop is just around the corner too.

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem - The oldest Inn in England! Situated within the caves of Nottingham Castle, it’s already a very impressive place to grab a pint! A very friendly place to eat & drink with friends, lots to look at & even a very old fashioned game, swinging the loop on the horn... I don't know the history behind it but hours of fun!!”
