Join us for a Family Adventure with The Sheriff of Nottingham!
The Sheriff may not be the villain we think he is. He claims he is a more generous and empathetic fellow than he is portrayed. Why not come along and meet to him to find out the truth!
Event Highlights:
The Sheriff's Court (14th October): Get a taste of Medieval justice as The Sheriff holds court in Sherwood. After The Sheriff has tried the locals, it's your the chance to face the law! Do you have a child who won't tidy their room? A husband who leaves wet towels all over the bathroom floor? Air your grievances and The Sheriff will pass judgement! Court will be in session on 14th October at 1pm and 3pm. It's free, but we can't guarantee that you will be by the end of the afternoon.
A Twilight Walk with The Sheriff (14th October): We've all listened to the adventures of Robin Hood, so why not hear the other side of the story? The narrative is always from Robin's perspective so we're giving The Sheriff a chance to put forward his side of the famous tales as the shadows fall and darkness descends. This twilight walk will take place from 6pm - 7:30pm on 14th October and advanced booking is required. Click here to book your tickets
The all-new Robin Hood Mummers Play (15th October): The Sheriff has commissioned the hilarious Calverton Real Ale & Plough Play Preservation Society to write the first new Robin Hood mummers play in Nottingham for over 100 years. This funny and farcical performance will delight audiences and give you fresh insight into the world of Sherwood's outlaw hero. The Society will perform on 15th October at 1pm and 3pm. It's free too.
Have a go archery: Test your skills on the archery range with Creative Kingdom and see if you are skilled enough to join The Sheriff's formidable foresters. Have a go archery is £4 for 6 arrows.
Historical re-enactment: Come and see the fantastic Lord Thomas Stanley Retinue as they demonstrate what medieval life under the rule of The Sheriff was like.
Family fun trails: Our fun-filled Halloween trail will begin and run alongside our educational fungi trail. Whether you're looking for a fright or to increase your nature knowledge, our trails will keep the youngsters entertained. The Halloween trail is £3.50 or you can do both trails for a combined price of £4.
This event is suitable for well-behaved dogs.
