10th - 18th February | 2024
The Heights of Abraham
Adults from £25, child from £17.50
The Heights of Abraham is delighted to welcome you to the start of their 2024 season, coinciding with the Lunar New Year on the 10th of February.
They are honoured to present an event that celebrates the dragon, a significant symbol for this year's Lunar New Year. They invite families to join the Heights for a week of cultural appreciation, enjoying the outdoors and creating memories in a tranquil setting.
Dazzling Dragon Displays and Vibrant Lanterns
The Rutland Cavern and Garden Pergola will be adorned with vibrant lantern displays, illuminating the area with a festive glow. Intricate paper dragons will be suspended throughout the estate and families are invited to join in the fun by counting these symbols of strength and good fortune.
Lion Dance Extravaganza (10th February ONLY)
The highlight of the celebration is the traditional Chinese Dancing Lion performance, a spectacle of colour, music, and dance. Accompanied by traditional musicians, the lion dancers will perform a special dance and a good luck ritual, symbolically throwing prosperity to the audience.
Fortune Awaits in Every Cable Car
As you ascend the heights in the cable cars, embrace the tradition of good fortune with a special treat – every rider will be offered a fortune cookie concealing a secret message of luck and prosperity for the year ahead.
Rupert Pugh, Development Director for the Heights said: “We are excited to share what we have got lined up for Chinese New Year. We are all set to light up the estate with dragons, lanterns, and the beautiful Lion Dance. It is going to be a fabulous week for families and friends to enjoy a day out, making memories and taking part in a fun cultural display."
