Rushcliffe Country Park Cycle Route
Distance: 2 miles (3km)
Explore over 200 acres of cycling and walking trails in this popular country park near Nottingham. In the park you will find wildflower meadows, grassland, conservation and landscaped areas. There is also a 2 hectare lake where you can see mute swans, great crested grebes and various duck species. Also look out for skylarks, finches, cuckoos, kestrels, sparrow hawks, reed buntings, reed warblers and sedge warblers.
You are next door the the famous Great Central Railway and you can walk into the site from the country park. You can also stand on the railway bridge and watch the trains when the Railway is in operation.
Just a short walk away is the village of Ruddington, with plenty to explore including the Framework Knitters Museum - offering insight into Nottingham's Lace heritage and the luddite movement.
