Accessible Attractions in Nottingham

Nottingham is full of exciting attractions, from theatres, museums and galleries to beautiful parks and country houses. Many of these attractions have worked to ensure that their building and facilities are accessible for all, with some also providing specialised events such as relaxed sessions or performances.

There should be no reason to let a disability hold you back or prevent you from experiencing the best of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Whether you want to go on an adventure, exploring Sherwood Pines, joining in on a tour to hear all about the ghosts of Nottingham or just sit back and get transported to a new world with amazing theatre or concerts, there’s plenty of fun to be had that is accessible for all - even a fully accessible forest adventure is on the cards!

The Woodland Adventure Zone near Mansfield, is a new, triple-award winning, accessible forest adventure, purpose-built within the grounds of Portland College. Set amongst acres of pine trees in Sherwood Forest, it is a truly unique setting for your outdoor adventure. With access for wheelchair users and people with disabilities, the Woodland Adventure Zone provides an exciting experience for people of all ages and abilities. The National Ice Centre is the hub for ice skating in Nottinghamshire, and home to Olympic legends Torvill & Dean. Not only can the ice can be accessed on skates, in a wheelchair or in a purpose built sledge (which must be booked in advance), but they often run 'Relaxed' events such as seasonal UV, foam and Christmas parties on the ice, designed for guests with sensory requirements.

Nottinghamshire offers various museums and galleries which are accessible like the National Justice Mueum, Nottingham Contemporary and Newark Air Museum. Many Country Parks also offer accessible routes - please scroll down to see some of the parks and outdoor routes and destinations which we have been able to evidence.

All of the attractions listed below offer a fantastic range of activities for different access requirements. Please note: this is not currently an exhaustive list of accessible attractions in Nottinghamshire.
