Join Sherwood Forest this weekend for the first of four weekends of entertainment in August, celebrating the legend that makes Sherwood famous across the globe.

The Robin Hood Festival is a celebration of the world’s favourite outlaw and the legends which have been inspired by the landscape of Sherwood Forest.

2024 will be the 38th Robin Hood Festival, with each attracting thousands of visitors every year from across the UK and overseas.

They come to see spectacular displays of jousting on horseback and medieval hand-to-hand combat, archery, historical re-enactment, music, comedy, children’s entertainment and much, much more.

This weekend, you can expect to see headliners The Knights of Nottingham (pictured), who are bringing their spectacular Medieval jousting show back to Sherwood for the third year in a row. Performing twice daily on 3rd & 4th August, the Knights retell the legend of Robin Hood with a dazzling display of horsemanship and hand-to-hand combat displays and no shortage of drama.


British Transplant Games

Thursday 1st - Sunday 4th August | Various venues and locations across Nottingham

This weekend, the Westfield Health British Transplant Games are coming to Nottingham, and the 46th annual Games are set to be bigger and better than ever!

Athletes ranging from the ages of two to eighty plus, from over 60 hospital teams across the UK, will represent their transplant unit with the support of friends, family and volunteers in 24 sporting events.

This inclusive event aims to raise awareness of the life-saving benefits of organ donation and encourages transplant recipients to stay active post-transplant.

 The Hundred's mix of world-class cricket and blockbuster entertainment returns to Trent Bridge once again this month.

 Trent Rocket's home campaign begins with a clash against local rivals Birmingham Phoenix (Wednesday 31 July), before they host a Saturday afternoon showdown with Welsh Fire (Saturday 3 August) and visits from London Spirt (Wednesday 7 August) and Oval Invincibles (Wednesday 14 August).

 Alongside world-class cricket, thanks to The Hundred's ongoing partnership with BBC Music Introducing, spectators at Trent Bridge were treated to memorable music performances from the likes of Rainbow Frog Biscuits and Dylan last season with more acts lined up for 2024.

Cricket fans can also meet the Trent Rockets at Bustler Market on Friday 2nd August. Starting from 12pm, you will have the chance to win exclusive Trent Rockets prizes and have your photo taken with cricketing heroes. You will be joined by the men and women's squads including Kirstie Gordon and Men's Captain Lewis Gregory, who will be joining in on the action.

Nott's Maze are proud to announce our outdoor cinema, in partnership with Owen Productions.

Be prepared to watch a great film snuggled in a blanket or camping chair, with a wide range of on site facilities including freshly made hot food, hot and cold drinks, fresh popcorn, licensed bar, and cold snacks.

​Whether your trip is for a special occasion, date night, family night or just because, there is a movie for everyone to enjoy as well as something for everyone's taste buds! Toilets are on site for all events, as well as free parking and an onsite cafe/bar.

More about the film (15+): Teenage brothers Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) move with their mother (Dianne Wiest) to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edward (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander), the angst-ridden Michael soon falls for Star (Jami Gertz) -- who turns out to be in thrall to David (Kiefer Sutherland), leader of a local gang of vampires. Sam and his new friends must save Michael and Star from the undead.

The brilliant summer Plant Hunters' Fair at Southwell Minster, Palace Garden will return this Sunday with a fantastic line up of wonderful nurseries and garden artisans.

Where better to get inspiration for your garden than at this great plant fair? The event offers the opportunity to visit a brilliant line-up of 27 specialist plant nurseries and artisans from near and far to get your gardening season off to a great start.

The plants are lovingly grown by these specialist nurseries who are bringing a great range of perennials, shrubs, alpines, spring bulbs, trees, wild flowers, herbs, rare species, old heritage varieties and up to the minute new varieties for a wide range of garden situations from hot sun to cool shade.

These enthusiastic plants people are also on hand to give straightforward advice on choosing and growing the right plants for your garden.

You can expect a refreshments kiosk in the fair plus the Minster Refectory will be open
