Perfect for a family night out, the recommended age guidance is 3+. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+. If you’re bringing a child aged 12 months or under to a children’s show, your child doesn’t need their own seat or ticket.

Killer Queen

Following the footsteps of Queen themselves, with their first performances also at London University decades later, Killer Queen grew enormously in popularity - so much so, they secured a residency in London's Strand Theatre which attracted nationwide BBC coverage. They became the first tribute act to ever have a show in the West End. The band's reputation continued to grow in the UK and beyond, leading to their ‘Worldwide Best Tribute Band’ award. They also scored a number one hit when they recreated Queen's harmonies on Fatboy Slim's single ‘The Real Life’.

Since then, the band has represented Queen in a re-staged tribute LiveAid concert, performed with Sir Bob Geldof, played some of the most prestigious venues across America, and wowed crowds at the UK's biggest Arenas. In December 2023, they take on Nottingham!

Escape the hustle and bustle on the lead up to Christmas and enjoy some free festive fun! Make your own card or make a garland which you can use each Christmas. You can book a space for either session on the Palace Theatre's website.

In the morning session, 10.30am - 12pm, join Christmas elf Milly for a free family Christmas card making workshop, suitable for ages 5+. In the afternoon session, 1.30pm till 3.30pm, get ready to make your own festive pompom garland to adorn your home over the holidays. Suitable for ages 13+.

What’s better than a fantastic, festive treat for free! This is perfect for little ones who love their arts & crafts, or you can also bring the whole family along.

Why not make a day of it and explore the National Civil War Museum during your visit, or pay a visit to Newark Castle? We also recommend the Newark Air Museum as a unique activity, and a true hidden gem!


Green's Windmill Christmas Carols in the Millyard

5. Green's Windmill Christmas Carols in the Millyard

Saturday 16 December | Green's Windmill | 3pm - 5pm | FREE

It's time to get merry again at this legendary Christmas Carol event! Complete with a lantern-lit mill yard, a visit from Santa Claus, mince pies and mulled wine, you can expect carols by the Nottingham Ukulele Concert Band and the Salvation Army.

There will also be the chance to do some last minute Christmas shopping by browsing the stalls or buying a bag of organic, stoneground flour.

Please note that entry is FREE, but there is a small charge for refreshments.
