A Festive Fair at Holme Pierrepont Hall

Finding the ideal gift for family and friends can be quite difficult.  You want the present to be thoughtful… unique… which is not always easy when one shop sells similar, if not the same, gifts as the next. A Christmas fair with individual stall holders offering everything from hand crafted jewellery to creative kids’ toys, home-made treats to funky fashions and everything in between, can offer the inspiration and individuality sadly lacking on the high street.

I went along to the Holme Pierrepoint Christmas Fair Preview night last year and loved every minute of it.  Parking was easy – right on the doorstep and I was greeted with warm twinkling lights, a chilled glass of Prosecco and a cheery welcome.

The setting is both historical and quirky in a family-owned Holme Pierrepont Hall with rooms and stairs leading off in different directions, all of which makes it interesting and perfect for exploring. With individual stalls set out in every room, the treasure trail of gifts, Christmas decorations and festive food and drink draws you through the house at every turn. Every room, nook and cranny is packed full of festive goodies that are sure to get you into the spirit of Christmas.

This year they even have special treats organised such as introductory reflexology taster sessions from Step2Reflexology and an opportunity to try Soothes revolutionary Illuminating Light Therapy Mask in return for a donation to charity. Their charity once again is Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and the fair managed to raise a spectacular £12,000 last year, just making the fair even more special.

Award winning caterers Fiona Herbert have a lovely hospitality area set up in the festive marquee and the ticket price included a delicious bowl of winter roasted vegetable risotto last year, so I’m looking forward enjoying this year’s chosen dish!

If you’re visiting the following day the restaurant is set up to provide shoppers with lunch and refreshments throughout the day… ideal for a little respite or to look over your purchases before planning your next haul!

This is Christmas shopping at its best… magical… personal… and unique, and in my opinion, best shared with friends…
