Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st May While the finished project of an artist can be a beautiful treat to behold, the places in which they create can be infinitely fascinating too, telling the story of how an artist works or how a particular piece has been created. This weekend artists throughout Lady Bay, just south of Trent Bridge, present their annual art festival to show off their studios, homes, and gardens. There will be delicious food, wandering musicians, art and gifts to purchase, and the chance to chat with the artists themselves. Pick up a trail guide at The Poppy & Pint to begin exploring for a great day in the community!Rent at Nottingham Playhouse

This breath-taking journey follows a group of young artists as they struggle to survive in New York City’s East Village, juggling the romantic life of bohemian excess and the daily grind of making ends meet. Featuring a star cast this whirlwind show was a winner of four Tony® Awards, six Drama Desk Awards and the hugely prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Drama, running on Broadway for an astonishing 12 years.Museums at Night – Various Locations
17th - 20th May 2017 Museums at Night is the UK's annual after-hours festival of arts, culture and heritage when hundreds of museums, galleries, libraries, archives and heritage sites open their doors for special evening events. https://youtu.be/vWSlqCGThJ4 Friday 19th May The world has gone quite Bowie crazy in the year since his passing, with people of all ages pulling out the Think White Duke’s back catalogue to reminisce about glitter make up, platform boots and youthful days in the surreal seventies. For those wondering if a tribute act could ever live up to Ziggy’s star presence, with Ultimate Bowie you might be surprised. Ed Blaney not only looks the part, but also has quite the knack for Bowie’s charmingly impish warble and will take you from Aladdin Sane to Superstar.Lara Favaretto & Wu Tsang Exhibition Opening – Nottingham Contemporary
Friday 19th May Something a little unusual has been creeping around Nottingham Contemporary of late... On a grey day you could be mistaken in blaming the shortcomings of the great British weather for the moody fog which has sporadically shrouded the gallery, or even (as many have reportedly feared) the result of a fire, being a gallery of innovative art and ideas however, it was always likely to be something a little more avant-garde. This weekend international artists Lara Favaretto and Wu Tsang open their respective exhibitions, and as always it’s set to be a night of intriguing art and great music. Tickets are free but booking is advised, and don’t forget to get there early for a free cocktail! If you want to connect online get in touch via Twitter, or connect on Facebook and Instagram to share what you’re up to in Nottingham!
