Ring in the new year at Nottingham's Malt Cross

This New Year’s Eve sees the Malt Cross in Nottingham bringing out the drums, horns, DJs, confetti and cocktails for a not-to-be-missed celebration of 2016. As the countdown to midnight begins, the former Victorian music hall on St James’s Street will be filled with the sounds of drummer and percussionist John Arkell and trumpeter Hugh Pascal playing along to DJ Hemulen Soundz and Bradley Jam. The popular Genre Clash who will keep party-goers dancing until the early hours with the sounds of Global Groove, Balkan beats, Fela Kuti, funk, soul and rock and roll from around the world. The bubble-blowing gramophone and confetti canons promise to add a little sparkle to the celebrations and there will be unique cocktails such as gummy bear martinis as well as real ale, craft beer and specialty gins available at the bar. Brookln Dekker, events programmer at the Malt Cross, said: “We’re excited to ring in the New Year with great music, big energy and lots of colour.” Formal attire or fancy dress is suggested but not required.
