Notts residents Ralph, Jackie and four-year-old Leo Thursfield paid a visit to White Post Farm. Find out what they thought in this guest blog written by Ralph . . .  Having received a personal recommendation and with a discerning, demanding four-year-old in our care, we set of for a day at White Post Farm. Situated north of the city of Nottingham, just off the A614 at Farnsfield, the journey was easy. There is ample free parking and the sign posting is really good, I wondered why we had never visited here before. This truly was a great day out. From an enthusiastic welcome to the kind attitude of the tea room staff towards our grandson Leo, the staff were helpful, cheerful and well informed. There is a great mix of play and activity areas with an ability to learn and interact with the animals. A motif on the wall of the Play Barn declared, ‘Imagine, Play and Explore’; all of which was delivered in full. Our favourites were the sledge runs in the Play Barn, the mountain goats and of course the playful meerkats. This was all topped off with a great ‘farmyard stage show’, hosted by the manager, Farmer Anthony, and involving some very impressive performances by the residents. The ability to handle some of the baby animals is inspirational for the children and a great photo opportunity so don't forget your camera!  There are so many things to see and do and all of the information you need is covered in an excellent website but I can unreservedly recommend a visit to this gem of a fun day out. With special events throughout the year and annual passes that enable this to become a regular visit, there's hours of endless fun for the kids and their grandparents alike. Thanks White Post Farm for a really good, full day out. P.S. We were very ‘eggsausted’ after all that! Further information on White Post Farm, including upcoming events, is available on the website
