Sherwood Forest will come alive with the spirit of Robin Hood this summer, when the annual Robin Hood Festival returns from 5 – 11 August 2013, hosted by Nottinghamshire County Council.
Now in its 29th year, the festival is a favourite with families in the summer holidays, offering a week of free entertainment and a daily programme packed with education and entertainment for all ages.
At this year’s festival, there will be archery, duels and a wide variety of acts from performers, musicians and entertainers who will transport visitors back to the medieval period when Robin pitted his wits against the Sheriff and other adversaries to help the poor triumph over the rich.
Where better to celebrate Nottinghamshire’s notorious outlaw, than in the forest made famous by him, in the shadow of the famous Major Oak?
Entertainment highlights include:
- Costumed characters throughout the site
- Live jousting tournaments
- Musicians and entertainers across Sherwood Forest
- Falconry displays
- Have a go at archery
- A wide range of craft stalls and activities
