We are sharing Patrick Monahan’s favourite places in Nottinghamshire. Patrick is one of the UK's top comedians.

After winning ITV1's Show Me The Funny in 2011 he has gone on to win the 2012 Loaded LAFTA's Best Newcomer for stand-up and the 2011 Edinburgh’s Forth Radio Best Stand-Up People’s Choice Award! He has also appeared on ITV1's Comedy Annual and danced on TV for Let's Dance for Sports Relief (BBC 1). Patrick has performed many times in Nottingham including the Nottingham Comedy Festival. Here are his favourite places in Nottingham.

The Canalhouse pub!

I've performed at many pubs, clubs, theatres & art centres in my time, some in beautiful locations with a view of the meadows and some with a view of a river or lake! But I've never done a show (until I played at The Canalhouse) where there was a view of a beautiful canal that comes straight through the pub! The closest I've come to this was when I played the Bulmers Comedy Festival in Clonmel in Ireland in O'keefes and the basement of the venue had flooded!

The high street!

Twice I've been in Nottingham and both times I had an amazing pampering session! Being from the north east of England it's hard to get away with this at home, both times I visited Nottingham to do shows I popped in - once to a fish pedicure shop in the high street to get my feet nibbled at! Then the second time, I got a sports massage for a running injury! Nottingham is the only place I know where you can pop in feeling old and tired and leave feeling years younger and recharged!
