This week we are sharing Kate’s favourite places in Nottinghamshire. If you would like to share your ‘favourites’ with us, email us at social@experiencenottinghamshire.com or use the comment section below. You may feature on our blog and our various social media platforms.     Kate lives in Carrington in Nottingham and is part of local designing, illustrating and printing collective fourbeatwalk. Every month they release a new illustration on their blog that you can download for free and use as your desktop calendar. You can currently download the April image HERE. Here are Kate’s favourites: “Creswell Crags – For people who like having a nosey around other people’s houses, but instead of a big house, it’s a caveman’s cave! The Cattle Market – You really have to go down early on a Saturday morning, have a look at all the furniture and tat in fruit boxes before getting breakfast from the van. For the brave, there is a stall selling tins without labels and the auction house with all the proper antiques. Highfields Park – Yes, there is the galleries and theatre and museum at Lakeside, which is excellent; there is a lake with boats on; the park and herons (which are basically dinosaurs) but most of all – there is cake, and scones and tea at the Pavilion Café, overlooking the lake. Icing on the metaphorical cake. Mansfield Road – “Manny Road” might not be the first place you think to take visitors to but it is worth walking them up to the Lincolnshire Poacher for a pint and having a look in all the shops on the way. Sadly, there aren’t as many any more (RIP Dotty’s Café, Kathleen & Lilly’s and Anarchy Records) but the ones that are still going or have newly arrived are well worth a trip up the “Road of Dreams” (©Beane Noodler – leftlion.co.uk).”
