"One heck of a guitarist" - Larry Coryell
"Lee Jones: an excellent composer, and one heck of a guitarist" – Larry Coryell
Californian double bassist Tom Hill, and guitar virtuoso Lee Jones bring their quartet to the club featuring the music of the late great guitar legend Wes Montgomery.
Lee Jones is a British jazz guitarist and composer, who combined influences from modern jazz, fusion, blues, avant-garde and rock styles. Lee has regularly performed throughout the UK and worked alongside Larry Coryell, Martin Taylor and Dennis Rollins
Tom Clarke-Hill defies stereotypes. A Californian long based in Birmingham, he is an actor, presenter and voice-over artist as well as a highly versatile musician. Among his recent feature films is the JK Rowling tale of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but Tom's role has often been anchoring many an all-star band or accompanying trio with his assured bass playing.
Joined by ace drummer Nick Milward and pianist Paul Deats, expect to hear smoking renditions of Wes's classic tunes- Unit 7, West Coast Blues, Four on Six, Twisted Blues and more, plus a few bluesy vocals and questionable jokes from Tom (aka Tom Clarke-Hill, the voice of Tony the Tiger – Grrrrreat!!)
Line up
Lee Jones – guitar
Tom Hill – bass
Nick Millward – drums
Paul Deats – piano
