Nottingham also has a thriving independent and fringe theatre scene, with Nottingham Arts Theatre and the Lace Market Theatre both offering high quality in-house productions as well as offbeat fringe theatre, comedy and events.
Opened in 2017, the Squire Performing Arts Centre is a smaller, modern theatre in Nottingham City Centre which often hosts local and national companies. As well as a broad events programme they are also committed to providing arts and performance education.
Whilst primarily a cinema, Broadway is the hub of the lively, independent Hockley district’s entertainment scene - they regularly screen National Theatre Live events from across the globe.
