Linear off-road cycling routes

Pack up your gear and embark on a cycling adventure across Nottinghamshire, on these linear off-road routes. Linking together some great attractions, including prestigious country parks and historical spots, these trails make for great cycling holidays if you want to take in Nottinghamshire by bicycle. The rolling green fields, mansions, and country parks that make up north Nottinghamshire’s Dukeries make for some spectacular sights. If you like a little history with your cycling, check out the Dukeries Cycle Trail, which crosses 32 miles taking in the ducal estates of Clumber, Welbeck and Thoresby.

Once part of the national rail line, the Newark to Cotham Cycling Route is considerably easier at 5 miles. Starting in the historic market town of Newark, enjoy a relaxing journey with picturesque scenery and flat terrain.

The most challenging of these routes takes you across 40 miles, from Nottingham city centre to Worksop in the north of the county. Newstead Abbey, Sherwood Forest, and Clumber Park are some great attractions on the way, and its worth stopping of to explore at least one of these famous Nottinghamshire sights. This route covers towns, villages, canal sides and off road trails, so you get a brilliant mix of terrain on your journey.
