Retford is an attractive market town in the very north of Nottinghamshire. It is surrounded by quaint villages, including Babworth and Scrooby, which are famous for their links to the Mayflower Pilgrims who started their separatist movement here before setting out on their epic journey to America. Uncover the stories of North Nottinghamshire from the earliest people to present day as well as explore the grade II* listed Georgian house Amcott House at Bassetlaw Museum and Pilgram Gallery located in the heart of Retford.
The Ducal Estates are very close by too, particularly Clumber Park and Welbeck Abbey, still a privately owned residence but with attractions such as the Harley Gallery and the Welback Farm Shop open to the public.
Located 15 mins from Retford's town centre, discover the UK's under 10's theme park - Sundown Adventureland. Run, climb, swing and play across Sundown Adventurelands many different rides including Angry Birds activity park and much more!
With lots of things to do, Retford is a great place for a weekend or short break - why not book a stay at Ye Olde Bell Hotel and Spa? This 17th Century AA 4-Star Hotel with Rosette has been passionately restored throughout by local owners and now has 59 individually styled rooms, including 4-posters, four stunning suites and two luxury lodges.
