If you would like to experience making a mosaic for yourself then join Julie in this 2 hour beginners taster course to make a pair of mosaic coasters for your home. You will be supplied 2 10cm x 10cm plywood bases and a large selection of glass tiles to choose your own colour combinations. There will be some examples of completed mosaic coasters should you wish to follow a design or encouraged to create your own unique design with Julie's guidance. All tiles are pre-cut, but you will also be introduced to some cutting techniques should you wish to have a go at cutting tiles for yourself. The Workshop will take place in the Rural Antics converted Art & Craft Barn, with beautiful views of the Nottinghamshire countryside.
What you will learn:

You will get to take home 2 mosaic coasters at the end of the session.
Learn how to apply the grout with a demonstration by Julie
By the end of your session you will have completed your mosaic and will know how to apply the grout at home once your glue has dried.

Note: These are interior pieces for your coffee table and not designed for outdoors.
Please note, due to the nature of the adhesives used in this workshop you will need to wait 24 hours for it to dry completely before the grout is applied at home. You will be shown in the workshop the best technique to use. You will also be provided with simple written instructions as a reminder. Grouting is the process of filling the gaps with a cement based mixture which unifies and protects the mosaic and making it a practical piece for your home as you can easily wipe clean.
