Jackson Mathod
A UK producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer who fuses influences from Miles Davis, Roy Hargrove, Mura Masa, and Mike Skinner, creating a diverse and distinctly British sound.
"Jackson Mathod plays with a genuine love for Jazz music. His ability to convey truth in his solos is a tonic and his potential as an artist excites me. Jackson's playing adheres to the values of blues, swing and community, he represents himself with honesty and dignity and reflects with abundance the characteristics that this music's future will thrive on." – Julian Joseph
In late 2023, Mathod captivated a sold-out crowd at London's Jazz Cafe, showcasing a decade's worth of material and his tireless work ethic. The standout track, The Park, marked his debut as a vocalist, amassing over a million streams as a self-released, self-produced gem that signified a turning point in his musical journey.
After an intense period of seclusion in the studio since the show, Mathod is now ready to unveil his new direction, characterized by evocative vocals, introspective moments, and infectious dancefloor-ready beats that captivate his audience.
This fresh sound, rooted in innovative productions, distinctively British vocals, and heartfelt lyrics, will be introduced to the world in 2023. Multiple releases are slated throughout the summer, accompanied by a fall tour to support the new music.
While initially studying jazz at Guildhall in 2009, Mathod never fully embraced the jazz world. He embarked on a path as a session musician, working frequently with artists like Blue Lab Beats, El. Train, Fika, Edbl, and rapper Nic Hanson. Mathod has graced stages alongside acts such as Stormzy and Jordan Rakei.
Mathod's independently released debut album, Travels in a Confined Space (April 2021), received support from BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Worldwide FM, and Jazz FM.
