How The Grinch Stole Christmas | Saturday 7th December
Jim Carrey lets his freak flag fly starring as Dr. Seuss’ Christmas-hating creation The Grinch in this big-screen adaptation of the childrens’ book classic. The cranky, cantankerous Grinch plans to ruin Christmas for the cheerful citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home with a scheme to swipe all things festive from the town, until he finds a hitch in his plans in the form of endearing Cindy Lou Who.

When Billy Peltzer is given a strange but adorable pet named Gizmo for Christmas, he inadvertently breaks the three important rules of caring for a Mogwai – don’t get him wet, keep him out of bright light, and never feed him after midnight – unleashing a horde of mischievous gremlins on a small town. Chaos reigns in Joe Dante’s 1984 classic comedy-horror.
The Polar Express - Santa Extravaganza | Saturday 14th December

All Kevin McCallister wants for Christmas is for his family to disappear. So when he wakes to discover that they have accidentally left for their Christmas trip without him, he does what any kid would do – he parties! But when he learns that two burglars with a Christmas list of their own are working their way up the block, he is forced to defend the family home on his own and sets about decking the halls with ingenious traps to hold the thieves at bay until his relatives return.

Directed by Michael Curtiz, with music by Irving Berlin and starring Bing Crosby, White Christmas is one of the festive greats – the centrepiece of which is, of course, a swooning rendition of the title song, sure to put you in the Christmas spirit. Singers Bob Wallace and Phil Davis enlist the help of the Haynes sisters in putting on a holiday show to put their old commander’s failing inn back in business.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New Yok | Sunday 15h December
Kevin is back for another serving of chaos in this sequel to the 1990 classic. With the original cast all back in place – Macaulay Culkin as Kevin, alongside Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci as the iconic Wet Bandits – Home Alone 2 sees Kevin lost in the Big Apple, after he accidentally boards a plane to New York as the rest of his family head for Miami. There, he bumps into his old enemies planning to rob an old man’s toy store.
Die Hard | Friday 20th December
On Christmas Eve, tough New York detective John McClane arrives in LA with the aim of reconciling with his estranged wife at her work Christmas party. But his plans go awry when the party is disrupted by a group of heavily armed criminals led by the charismatic Hans Gruber. It’s a holiday classic – Bruce Willis in a sweaty vest working overtime to save Christmas – what more could you want?
The Muppet Christmas Carol | 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th December
A beloved festive favourite regularly ranked among the greatest Christmas films of all time, The Muppet Christmas Carol is sure to delight audiences and generations for decades to come. The Holdovers | Sunday 22nd December
The students of Barton Academy depart for the winter holidays, leaving behind a ragtag bunch with nowhere to go, whose ‘babysitter’ is the cantankerous Professor Hunham. But as the days pass, the grumpy professor forms an unexpected bond with student Angus and the school’s cook, Mary, who is grieving the loss of her son. Alexander Payne reunites with his Sideways star Paul Giamatti in a film that strikes the perfect balance between pathos and playfulness.
